Light intensity and light colour have different effects on our mental health and bodies. In most working environments, people work under lighting conditions that do not meet their individual needs. While some prefer bright, cool, or colourful light, others may favour a dimmer and warmer atmosphere. Tinted Ray addresses this mismatch by allowing users to independently control their lighting conditions at the workplace without disturbing the needs of others.


Screen-printed fabric acts as an analog filter, adjusting the color of the light and dimming its intensity. By altering the light only from the user’s perspective, it allows individuals to adapt their lighting conditions to their personal needs without affecting those of others. It creates a personal space without being isolating. It is primarily used in co-working spaces and workplaces where the light source cannot be adjusted individually.





The design considers different approaches to resource-efficient design. The structure is designed to minimize material usage and reduce the variety of materials used. All components are connected exclusively by plugging or clamping and can therefore be separated from one another. This not only simplifies assembly and disassembly but also allows for compact transport as a flat-pack. The sandbags are filled on site, thereby avoiding additional transport weight. The fabric can be removed, washed, and then reattached to the structure.
