Light intensity and light colour have different effects on our mental health and bodies. In most working environments, people work under lighting conditions that do not meet their individual needs. While some prefer bright, cool, or colourful light, others may favour a dimmer and warmer atmosphere. Tintedray addresses this mismatch by allowing users to independently control their lighting conditions at the workplace without disturbing the needs of others.

“Tintedray” is a flexible, floral structure designed to alter individual light intensity in open-plan work environments. It is primarily used in co-working spaces and workplaces where the light source cannot be individually adjusted. It is intended for everyone who is bothered by light and wants to adapt it according to their mood.

The overall orientation and curvature of the structure are adjusted by tensioning the fibreglass rod, which is connected to a sandbag with a thin wire cable. Three self-locking clamps hold the fabric in the desired position. By pushing, sliding and releasing, the fabric can be adjusted intuitively. Finally, a helix-like twisting movement allows the light to be adjusted from an additional perspective.
